Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply for funding more than once?
- Yes, you can apply for funding more than once by any of the three deadlines posted - October 1, December 1 and February 1 - as long as the total funding requests do not exceed $1,000.
Can advisors and adults submit student challenges, or just students?
- We do encourage the challenges to be student driven and produced by the students. However, we realize there may be certain cases when the students need help submitting, especially in elementary schools. In these cases, it is fine to assist. As a reminder, the first student challenge, "Back to School, Back to Football," has a deadline of October 10th, so encourage your students to get started right away!
How do I get a Jordy Nelson stand-up? I didn't see one in my kit.
- That is true. The Jordy Nelson stand-up is not included in the new 2011-12 Fuel Up to Play 60 kit. Look through the kit materials and you will find a letter from the Wisconsin Dairy Council. This welcome letter contains a special website link where you can order the free Jordy Nelson stand-up, key tags, pencils and many other great items to support the program at your school.
I am already signed up for a wellness kit. Do I still qualify for the $100 signing bonus?
Is funding only for the school district, or is it for individual schools?
- Funding is for individual schools. Each individual school within a school district is eligible to apply for the $1,000 in funding.
Can the gym teacher be the Program Advisor?
- Absolutely! The gym teacher as well as any other adult at the school can be the Program Advisor. In addition to gym teachers, grade level teachers, health teachers, school nurses, school nutrition staff, or even the principal can be a Program Advisor for Fuel Up to Play 60 in their school. We encourage you to sign up multiple program advisors to assist with activating your program.
