Celebrate Dairy All Month Long!
National Dairy Month started out as National Milk Month in 1937 as a way to promote drinking milk. It was initially created to stabilize the dairy demand when production was at a surplus, but has now developed into an annual tradition that celebrates the contributions the dairy industry has made to the world. After the National Dairy Council stepped in to promote the cause, the name soon changed to "Dairy Month."

June 9 - Farmers under the age of 40 are nominated each year to represent Wisconsin at the national level for the title of National Outstanding Young Farmer. Meet this year's state winner, Todd Augustian.
June 16 - We're shining a light on the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as it celebrates 125 years of research, teaching, and outreach.
June 23 - The Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Program celebrates 20 years of elevating the skills of outstanding Wisconsin cheesemakers.
June 30 - Hear from founders Craig and Lea Culver about opening their 500th restaurant as they celebrate 30 years in business!
A New Alice in Dairyland Crowned
Zoey Brooks, Waupaca, was named the 67th Alice in Dairyland Saturday night at the ceremonies held in Clark County. Brooks is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in animal science. She is the sixth generation on her family's dairy and grain farm. Brooks will officially begin her duties as Alice on June 2. The Alice in Dairyland program is partly funded by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and Brooks will spend a portion of her next year visiting classrooms and promoting the dairy industry.

Attend the 3rd Annual Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championship this Sunday, April 27, in Dodgeville.
