LaBelle Cheese Blends Family Farm Tradition With Wisconsin Master Craftsmanship
Winter '12 | Vol. 18, No. 2
Koepke Family Farms has introduced LaBelle Cheese, a Wisconsin Original that blends the characteristics of Dutch Gouda and German Butterkäse. Made by Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Bob Wills at Cedar Grove Cheese, LaBelle is aged for eight to 11 months and develops a semi-soft texture that is smooth and creamy with a mellow, buttery flavor.
The label depicts the original Koepke farmstead where the family’s ancestors settled in 1875 in Oconomowoc, Wis. LaBelle’s mild, sweet flavor and good meltability make it ideal for grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers and pizzas. It pairs well with a crisp Riesling or an Oktoberfest beer.
