Meet Our New Chef Ambassadors!

Six notable chefs from around the nation are bringing their distinctive regional styles to the Wisconsin Cheese Chef Ambassador program for 2007 - 2008.

The new 2007-2008 Chef Ambassadors are:

The Chef Ambassadors began the year with a recent "Wisconsin immersion" in Madison, Wis., that included cheesemaker tours and a Wisconsin Cheese tasting. The new ambassadors will spend the year cooking with Wisconsin Cheese to develop innovative menu applications, some of which will be featured in their restaurants, as well as "spreading the word" about Wisconsin's specialty and artisan cheesemakers to their peers and patrons through a variety of activities.

More than 20 distinguished chefs are members of the expanding ambassador team, now in its fifth year.

The WMMB Chef Ambassador Program

Top chefs from all across the country have discovered the heritage and passion of Wisconsin Cheese and its creators by participating in "Cheese with Pride, Chefs with Passion," the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board's Chef Ambassador program.

This program connects some of the best chefs in the nation with Wisconsin Cheese – some of the best cheese in the nation. The WMMB Chef Ambassador program taps the culinary creativity of these talented chefs to develop exciting new menu applications. In addition to developing recipes, chef ambassadors also spend the year spreading the word about Wisconsin Cheese through a special chef-invitee event in their restaurants, making media appearances and appearing at food events and conferences.

With the help of our chef ambassador team, people around the nation have enjoyed tasting the very best Wisconsin Cheese.

Las Vegas—Chef Matthew Silverman raised close to $14,000 at a recent benefit reception for the Children's Heart Foundation of Nevada in his elegant Las Vegas restaurant Vintner Grill with an extravagant spread of Wisconsin artisanal cheeses. Crowd favorites included Sartori Foods' Bellavitano, Roth Kase's Private Reserve and Hook's 10-year Cheddar. Event partners included Southern Wine and Spirits and Lamborghini - cheese and cars, what a perfect combination.

Chef Ambassador Tour
Top chefs from throughout the country traveled to Wisconsin to learn about Wisconsin's signature industry. We talked with a few of the chefs to see how important it is for them to learn about the products they feature on their menus.
